Hey there, I feel like this community needs some love! So here is my latest FO: A cropped tee I recently improvised to battle the draining summer heat. It consists of a Tencel/bamboo mix and has a nice cooling effect.

Just when we thought the .world knitting community was becoming the “default” one lol 😅
This is really cute! The yarn sounds absolutely lovely for this time of year, people get a bit weird about knitted clothes for summer but they don’t realise how cooling some fibres can be. You just made it up as you went? No pattern or anything?
I would like to have that level of skill one day, wow, the fit looks perfect!
In my view it still says .world only had 5 subscribers lol. Just now I realized that’s obv not true 😄
Thanks a lot! I borrowed Barbara Walker’s Knitting from the Top from archive.org and used it as reference. I feel like most patterns using standard sizes don’t really fit me, so it was time for something customized.
Oh god yeah it’s so silly, it shows the number subscribed there from your instance you’re looking at it through, such a pointless stat. Tbh for a lot of things I’ve just been cross-posting the same thing to multiple communities and seeing where people bite.
I’m so with you on things never fitting right. Absurdly short waist but also absurdly wide hips, so fashion advice on the internet tells me I must always wear high-waisted things and crop tops but also that I should never wear high waisted things or crop tops 🙄
Just been learning a fair bit recently about getting things to fit me with sewing, but I’d never really investigated the ins and outs in knitting because mostly I seem to just knit socks and baggy jumpers!
Gonna make a note of that book though against the day I suddenly get a bee in my bonnet about Doing. It. Right. Thanks!
