The arguments the person you are debating made was that the US Army was involved in liberating people in concentration camps. Your argument was that British and Soviet forces were involved. Both statements are true. Yours did not invalidate theirs.
Point 2 on your source: American forces liberated concentration camps including Buchenwald, Dora-Mittelbau, Flossenbürg, Dachau, and Mauthausen.
