    I highly doubt that. They were calling World War 2 just that even in 1939.

      Right, but not in the mid 1930’s when Japan was fighting China, Germany was taking advantage of Chamberlains appeasement strategy, and Italy was expanding their influence in the Horn of Africa. Only when Germany invaded Poland and everybody started declaring war on everybody did some people start calling it world war 2.
