But it does slow down the hot air path, so instead of going straight to the ceiling it bounces around at lower heights. And you get a little bit of radiant heat from the pot, but see laws of physics. It’s more about the distribution of the heat.
So 3 people huddling for warmth instead of 2. That’s a better situation than before, and if you have a space blanket, even better. It’s still 3 people instead of 2, so better overall situation for everyone.
