    Goverment spending is an investment, people seem to not understand that. Well funded public schools lead to more prosperous communities, better infastructure facilitates commerce etc…

    If you have a stable revenue source it doesn’t make financial sense to NOT leverage it. You keep your cash freed up for other investments or to earn interest depending on the market.

    What exactly we invest that money into is an increadibly important and nuanced issue. You could fund all of AOCs proposals for the price it takes to refuel a nuclear submarine, but we are willing to take on debt to refuel the sub because we deem it important. If you wanna cut spending EVERYWHERE then we can talk, but most people against national debt are perfectly fine with military spending.
