There is literally only one person developing SDV and Haunted Chocolatier. This is literally an impossible statement. There is only ConcernedApe, and he has not announced any cancelation.

Shit, Katana Zero took 6 years to develop, and it’s “just” pixel art, but it came out fantastic. You just never know either way.

I want part 2 like, yesterday. It’s such a good game, I’d play it day 1 no question.

He would have you believe but he isn’t the only developer working on this game.

I wouldn’t put much stock in hearsay. ConcernedApe has always been relatively quiet about what he is up to, even with Stardew.
Well we’ll see. Certainly I do hope that Haunted Chocolatier comes out at some point in time, but - I really have my doubts.
