Yeah, it is a double-edged sword. The way I look at it, Lemmy.world is the starter town of the wider Lemmy-verse, dun talaga mag-dadagsaan ang mga newbs. Tapos, since masyado nang crowded, kakalat ang mga tao elsewhere, which on their own would grow and be known–maybe not to the extent of Lemmy.world is at present–but it’s bound to happen.

I just hope that by then, there’s enough of these hubs (for the lack of a better term) to take the load off Lemmy.world, that by then Lemmy (the software) is a lot better equipped in handling that load (not just users, but also activity), and finally, that these other instances have learned the lessons Lemmy.world right now is learning.

That is, I hope that

• There’s more instances like lemm.ee that are as good as, or even better than Lemmy.world, and that they be known in their own right and attract more people, taking the load off Lemmy.world.
• Lemmy (software) is better equipped to handle the load such that instance admins have better options to deal with people pouring in
• That instance admins are have a better idea of the best practices for dealing with increased loads.
