Ramaswamy, DeSantis, et al., are very similar to Trump politically, only more polished in personality. Nikki Haley and Chris Christie are probably the most rational of the current crop of Republican primary candidates, and they’re still far from the more centrist Republicans like Bush I or II, or even Richard Milhouse Nixon.
