I’m pretty sure Israel’s strategy here is "it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission (for genocide). They will completely destroy Palestine and essentially wipe out the people, and then say “sorry, but what are you gonna do, you’re capitalists, so now lets sign this trade deal and move on without those pesky Palestinians existing anymore.”

      Damn, that’s too accurate.

I can also see Israel’s assassins taking out any stragglers in remaining nations and getting away with it.

The population Gaza is like 1/3 of the number of Jews estimated to be killed in the holocaust. It’s definitely an option if Israel decided that’s what they wanted, and from the looks of it, it is.

Israel can eaily wipeout the population of Gaza, it would have taken betwern 24 to 48 hours.

When we look at the data it doesn’t support your claim that Israel decided to wipeout the population or Gaza. After over two months of war Israel killed much less than 100k Gazans, meaning, much less than 5% of the popilation. At that rate it will take much more than another 38 months of war for Israel to eliminate the population Gaza.

The Israeli economy can’t sustain the war for such a long time. Leading to the conclusion you are wrong.

Ever heard of optics? strategy? politics? sanctions? allies?

I’d imagine decision makers in Israel realized that a full blown takeover of it’s tiny neighbor in 48 hrs would not be a good look. Just like others have realized, if you do things slow, like the Republican slow-moving coup, people react much less.

In the first 48 hours after the initial attack on Israel, Israel had free range to do whatever they want. There was still Hamas people hiding in Kibutz in the area and IDF forces were still rescuing civilians and uncovering the horror of the initiall attack. If IDF had an oopsy and everyone in Gaza died no one would have blinked an eye.

The slow process we see now is evidence that Israel tried to reduce harm to civilians.
