The NCAA’s decision in 2021 to abruptly drop their opposition to college athletes profiting off their names, images and likenesses has done nothing to deter advocates from pushing for a greater share of revenues for athletes.
I see what you’re saying, BUT this is a business outside of the university, they give no money back to the university. At least that’s how UW works. So they’re not students first, they’re employees “interns” for the football team first with an education as a perk.
Because they’re supposed to be students first and athletes second.
Really, colleges should just not be allowed to have such massive sports programs. Do pro leagues not allow players at 18?
