I recently got my first GoPro and am learning about the various mounting options, but this does make me wonder why they don’t use a traditional tripod mount. (I know that the Hero 12 added one.) I was hoping to find an article from GoPro describing the pros and cons of their mount and how they came to the decision to use their mount, but I’ve been unable to find anything like that. Does anyone have any information any this decision and the history of the GoPro mount?
Thanks for the reply. It definitely makes sense that a tripod would not be an intended use case for an action cam.
