Subnautica does not support VR controllers. It’s designed to be played sitting in a chair with a mouse and keyboard while wearing a headset. This is ridiculous, so after I bought Subnautica on Steam and booted it in VR, I asked them for a refund and they gave it.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize that. I’ve heard it’s still an awesome game on desktop. But I guess if you were expecting a VR game and got that, it’s a disappointment.
It is amazing on Desktop, I love it. I got it for free on Epic and only bought the Steam version for VR. I still think it’s an excellent game, but I think it’s lying to call it a VR game. Maybe we need a new category like “semi-VR”.
