Mr Musk visited the site with podcaster Ben Shapiro, founder of the European Jewish Association Rabbi Menachem Margolin, and his three-year-old son X Æ A-XII – despite the fact that Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum recommends children under 14 do not go on the tour.

‘And, you know, there’s this old joke “I’ve got like this one Jewish friend”,’ said Mr Musk. ‘No, I have like two-thirds of my friends are Jewish. I have twice as many Jewish friends as non-Jewish friends.

‘I’m like Jewish by association, I’m aspirationally Jewish.’

Yes. He really did use the ‘some of my best friends are Jewish’ excuse.

If his money didn’t provide him with an unecessarily large platform with which to fuck with society on a global scale, I’d agree with you.

Elon could never speak publicly again but still platform Nazis on Twitter and sell dangerous cars, could still distract the world with Hyperloop while we should be focusing on high speed rail, and, while I quite like what SpaceX is doing, trying to be emperor of mars, I think it comes into perspective that we kinda need to know wtf he’s up to, annoying as it is.
