I know; it’s heartbreaking. Because Amazon has failed so hard with Alexa and axed headcount for the project, investment in voice assistants across the board has vanished while funds are moved onto LLMs etc.
I’ve been using these technologies to help a blind member of my family and I’m sad the projects will stagnate but thankfully the open nature means I can nurse the code base to keep working as is for the foreseeable future and for that I’m eternally grateful to the developers for their generosity and commitment to open source.
