    I really liked this episode.

I don’t remember the Warriors of Kyoshi episode in the original show that well, but iirc there Sokka was the one actively seeking the Kyoshi warriors’ training after they beat him up? In this adaption Suki has way more of her own agency and basically tries to woo Sokka by doing what she does best: fight. I also fully understand comments someone made about her being very smitten by Sokka from early on in that episode, the actress did a great job at portraying that lol

Streamlining Kyoshi to be the Avatar Aang talks to instead of Roku probably makes sense for multiple reasons (one of them being Avatar Studios’ commercial interests lol). And her “taking over” Aang’s body as the climax of the fight was awesome to see. But I know a good chunk of people will be disappointed about losing Roku in that role.

In a few takes, the CGI for them flying on Appa was off imo. That took me out for a second.

There is a clear cut in that fight scene before Kyoshi arrives - Suki and Sokka fight together and suddenly they’re scrambling to the sidelines together with her mom, just watching the fight go on? What happened there? Did they forget to film something, or throw some scene out?

Last, and I already felt this in the first episode: Kiawentiio’s acting isn’t doing it for me. She does great in light, comedic scenes - but it feels like she’s lacking something in those more serious scenes with Aang. And I’m very sorry to feel that way - no attack intended or anything. She clearly has potential! Looking forward to the next episodes with a different director, maybe that changes something…
