Today was a historic day for the movement in solidarity with Palestine. In dozens of cities and towns across the country, tens of thousands took to the streets to support the Palestinian people’s just struggle for liberation with less than 24 hours notice.

While the government that speaks in our name signs the checks that pay for [neocolonialism’s] massacres, the impressive scale of these emergency actions made it clear that the people stand with Palestine. The ANSWER Coalition is proud to have joined with other organizations in helping to organize and initiate many of these actions. And this struggle is just beginning — mobilizations are continuing nationwide.

The unrelenting oppression, murder, torture and occupation carried out by the [neocolonial] apartheid régime has precipitated a counter-offensive by Palestinian resistance forces. The [neocolonial] war machine, and its attendant systems of oppression, are bought and paid for by U.S. [neo]imperialism. U.S. tax dollars fund the grinding oppression of the Palestinian people to the tune of $4 billion each year.

Many of the actions today were slandered and vilified by politicians who shamefully stand with the apartheid government in [the Middle East]. Protesters refused to be silenced and proudly took to the streets. We know that we are on the right side of history – and those who stand with a racist regime that systematically and horrifically violates fundamental rights are on the wrong side.

The nationwide protests demanded the U.S. immediately end all aid to [the neocolony]. The actions also raised demands for the freedom of Palestinian political prisoners and an end to the blockade of Gaza. As [the apartheid government] pledges to wage a war of annihilation and the Palestinian people remain steadfast in their determination to resist, this movement will continue to take to the streets until Palestine is free!

Are these rapes part of their resistance? And can’t you condemn these rapists individually?

It really is that hard for you to give a straight answer to the question “do you condemn the rapists” and whether rape is a justified part of resistance?

        That’s… really worrying.

I’ve already said rape is never justifiable.

Can’t tell if you’re just dense or if you’re purposefully ignoring what I’m saying and arguing in bad faith to try and catch me in some gotcha to feel like you have a moral high ground.

We’re talking about condemning rape and rapists. It’s not a very high moral ground we’re fighting for here.

We’ve established that all resistance is justified and how you’ll never condemn them for resistance, but you’ll condemn rape and the rapists. It feels like a contradiction, which is why I was (am) asking for a simple yes/no on whether rape is part of the resistance/resisting. It would clarify things a lot for me.

Sorry for being dense. Can’t do much about it unfortunately. But that’s why I’m asking for clarification.

We’re all good sorry, just frustrated feeling like we’re going in circles. I’m sure its the same for you.

Where there is massive injustice you cant’t apply the same moral code to the oppressed.

You have no idea how it feels to face down an impossibly powerful entity that thinks you are less than human, that controls everything around you, makes you life a living hell and wants to eradicate you and will sometimes kill you for fun.

Where there is such injustice there will be violence.

In normal circumstances if a dog bites someone for no reason thats a dangerous dog and will be put down.

If you keep beating a dog and it lashes out then most people would consider you a terrible person and would probably blame you for anyone who was hurt by the dog when it lashed out.

I’m not sure what you mean. Are you blaming the Israelis for the rapes?

I don’t think this clarified if rape is part of the resistance

I’m blaming Israel for the situation.

                  Everything stems from that.

The liberal is so preoccupied with stopping confrontation that he usually finds himself defending and calling for law and order, the law and order of the oppressor. Confrontation would disrupt the smooth functioning of the society and so the politics of the liberal leads him into a position where he finds himself politically aligned with the oppressor rather than with the oppressed.

I’m sorry for insisting on this but I still don’t get if rape is part of the resistance. I think that’s the question here.
