Currently working as a Sysadmin for a K12 school system. For the record, given we work with children, rules for social media and online messaging are much more strict for us than other businesses. For the record, I only inherited this mess a little over a year ago.

Prior to me coming in, we had pages set up for all of our schools and simply shared the password with Admins only. However, prior to this school year, we had a surprise resignation from one of our building admins that had the password, thus the need to change it came up.

Log in to the account, attempt to change the password, verify via linked email address, etc. Good to go right? Nope. Asks for a photo ID for verification. The owner of the page’s name was set up as “school name”. Obviously, no such person exists, so as of now I am stuck. I have tried to add myself as a page admin and verify, but still no luck.

Anyone else been in this situation and figured it out? Since facebook transitioned to Meta it seems it is all but impossible to reach their support. Flairing as rant because I don’t expect there to be a good resolution aside from just starting from scratch and doing it the right way.
