After Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) was indicted for acting as a foreign agent of Egypt while he was the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) called for his expulsion.
If Republicans get behind this expulsions with those reasons on everyone’s minds it’s not a big jump to trying to remove the Republicans. Not that I expect Republican politicians nor their voters to actually be consistent. But removing Menendez is a net good even if we can’t use the precedent on the rest.

Wouldn’t they have to expel quite a few Republicans?
Yes. That’s the idea.
