Looking for storage solutions. Small cables I’ve been labelling gallon plastic bags and throwing them in a drawer. I’ve got a drawer for power cables, a drawer for balanced cables. Instrument cables I have hanging on a coat rack, lol. I feel like there has to be a better way. What do you guys do?

here look, I’m gonna just tell you my solution. It’s cheap, (because, well too many cables), and you might hate it, but it works for me.

Toilet roll inserts. Roll the cable, no need to tie, just pop into the insert. In the case of the weird or one usage cable, you can write what it is on the insert, for future reference. Throw in box with all your other cables, no tangles, no spagetti, easy to store.

    That’s it.

    photo available on request! haha!

I’ve been happy with my over-door coat rack. So much less effort retrieving and storing and they’re easy to find and organize. However the door rattles every time I open and close it.

I roll them up, tie them around themselves and put them in a box.

When the need arises I spend a few minutes swearing profusely while looking for, then untangling, the one I’m after.

I roll them without twisting (there are good tutorials on YouTube) and tie them with a reusable velcro strap

Rolled up and bound with cable ties. I’ve got a drawer per category: audio, data, power.

If I can I roll them so that each connector is at the same end. That way I know exactly what cable I’m picking up.

The ones I use frequently get haphazardly stuffed into an easily accessible box, the rest get put in baggies and I store them in an unused guitar case. Not a great situation haha.

I have all my synths in cases and I put whatever cables I use for them in the accessories pocket. The cables themselves are tied with velcro straps. I only own 3 synths, and have just enough cables for them. So, results vary.
