Giving kids conditional love is how you get narcissists. Kids need to receive unconditional love in order to develop an intrinsic sense of self worth. You need to tell them they’re special. If you tell them they need to be perfect in order to receive love, they’ll develop a self-perfection complex and be narcissists.
