Well yes, I assumed I didn’t need to state it was before I noticed that part.

Women don’t have breasts or figures. They should all be drawn like flat rectangles. But if a pretty lady draws the booby then it’s actually empowering and based 😎

So much knee-jerk defensiveness. Y’all can disagree with me if you like, but to me it very much has the energy of people digging their heels in against the BLM message at first before later coming around - not from a place of bigotry, but rather not yet fully understanding the situation. I hope that eventually the people in this thread will understand that the ever-present over-sexualization of women is something that needs to be addressed, even in minor cases like this. Call me over-sensitive, call me a white knight, but just turn this point over in your mind a few times.

And perhaps look to the litany of posts in this community that represent women without sexual undertones

Edit: changed “sub” to “community” - old habits die hard

If the lady witch had huge anime milkers hanging out of her shirt and fat thighs with a tiny skirt I’d be inclined to agree but this is such a nonoffensive drawing I genuinely can’t see anything wrong with it. I personally know women who make art and depict their women characters way worse than this.

Genuinely the real problem is people having an issue with things that shouldn’t be sexual at all. Everybody has breasts, some just have larger ones than others, and to act like that’s not real is like some weird titty erasure. Just because you personally find breasts overtly sexual doesn’t mean someone else does.

People express themselves in many different ways and for some people they enjoy feeling comfortable in their own body. Having representation not just for different body types but also different portrayals of those body types is important, as long as it’s realistic. You wouldn’t start a stink over a woman choosing to wear a revealing top or form fitting dress, neither would you mind a man dressing in drag with huge fake breasts.

The problem with oversexualization in general is when it’s unrealistic and stereotypical. I promise if you go to any Halloween party with attendees in the 18-30 range you’ll see actual women dressed like little witches like that right now.

Comparing someone not finding anything wrong with little boobies on a cartoon hag to people that think black people are inferior is probably the most insane take I’ve ever seen on this website.

Women being drawn with breasts are over sexualized now? Do they all need to be completely flat in your world?

Idk if you’re looking to fight or discuss in good faith, but in case it’s the latter, scroll through the posts in this community. There are hundreds of examples of women with normal shapes that aren’t sexualized.

I’m not saying “this artist should be in jail for what he’s done!!!”

But I am saying he added a little more sexuality than is entirely appropriate, and certainly more so than most female artists do.

I don’t know that I’d agree with that exactly - defensiveness is a shade of anger in my mind. But largely I was referencing the high number of downvotes for all of our comments, especially newnewaccount’s innocuous reply to mine. We seem to have struck a nerve

There’s no defensiveness here either… Your comment was a boring “omg men r pervs” joke, newnewaccount’s comment was just the exact same joke, but worse. I’m surprised downvotes surprise you this much.

I don’t know why men get so defensive about this. Men over-sexualize women all the time, it’s not like I’m making this up. Just go through the posts on this community and there will be plenty where you know immediately that it was a man who drew it

You know you’re just assuming everyone in the comments are men right? I feel like that’s pretty shallow. Also seriously you’re the one being weird here about a drawing. Especially one that has pretty diverse body types in it too.

I could be wrong, but I have a pretty strong feeling that the grand majority of people disagreeing with me are men, based on the mentality being displayed. I am of course open to being proven wrong by any women in this thread.

Thank you. I’m just trying to get people thinking about it so that there’s a little less ire each time they’re approached with this topic - and (hopefully) eventually see things from my side
