In perhaps the most bizarre race that Middle Tennessee has ever experienced, Franklin voters resoundingly rejected a mayor candidate who openly embraced white supremacists and Christian nationalism.
Franklin’s weird. Lots of Nashville money but it runs from traditional southern racist money to progressive doctors and the like. The town itself is quite lovely.
So, at least 2 out of 10 people in Franklin are racist. In my small New England town, it would have been 4 out of 10.
