There is a crackdown/entrapment going on, and many people who took part in Pro-Palestinian demonstrations are then ID and catalogued. Palestinian flags on apartment windows and student dormitories are taken down by police. Not to mention, Palestinian flag that was painted in a shop’s garage next to my house and has been there for literally 10 years, was painted over by the city government today. There is a concentrated effort to silence any Palestinian voice, and Germans are just as “clueless” like they were back in the 1940s.

    BS.

You can’t walk 5 minutes in any major city into any direction and not meet some pro-palestine protestors.

Also Talkshows discuss palestine stuff for days now.

In Hamburg they’ve been banned for over a week now and still are until Sunday at least (and I’m sure they’ll keep going)

While the latest measures are particularly stringent, Palestinian supporters have faced restrictions even before October 7. This year, Berlin authorities banned demonstrations to mark 75 years since the Nakba, or “catastrophe”, when most Palestinians were driven from their homes before and after the declaration of the state of Israel.

Sa’ed Atshan, associate professor of peace and conflict studies and anthropology at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, said there were a number of reasons why Germany is currently doubling down on this position.

“Part of it is an underlying racism where there’s a hierarchy of humanity whereby Palestinian life is not seen as equal,” Atshan said.

How about the reason being that in every year before those Nakba protests in Berlin turned violent and the organisers failed to explain before court how this year would be any different, making the court side with the police’s assessment.

This whole article is biased BS. There’s been a gazillion peaceful pro-Palestine protests in Germany since the Hamas attacks: Don’t be violent, don’t fly Hamas flags, don’t chant “gas the Jews”, actually follow the rules and procedures regarding protests which everyone has to follow, and you’re fine.

Stop playing made-up victim cards it’s only hurting the cause.

The whole article is complete BS.

    Just one small example:

Pro-Palestinian protests in many parts the country as well as Palestinian flags, pro-Palestinian speech and the Palestinian keffiyeh headdress have been banned with schools in Berlin given official permission to do so.

What happened is that schools CAN ban keffiyeh. And of course they can, political symbols of any kind always have been not allowed at schools. It was the same when I went 10 to 20 years ago.
