I can’t vouch for the film, of course, but the novel is an excellent read.

Hmm… just looked it up on IMDB to see who’s playing the female lead, Marie-Laure. I can’t really tell, but it does not seem the actress is blind (although her character is). Here’s her writeup:

Aria Mia Loberti makes her acting debut in the leading role of Marie-Laure Leblanc in Netflix’s adaptation of All The Light We Cannot See. She landed the part after a global casting search, beating out thousands of submissions to secure the role, despite no acting training. A doctoral student at Penn State, Loberti received her Masters in 2021 from Royal Holloway University of London as a Fulbright Scholar and earned her undergraduate degrees in 2020 from the University of Rhode Island. She is also an advocate for disability equity.

Also, if I recall the novel, she and the male lead, Werner, do not communicate directly by radio, which is shown in the teaser.

However, I do like Hugh Laurie as Etienne, the WWI vet with PTSD… will see what they give us.

          Loberti is blind (per Wikipedia).

The production company specifically searched for blind or low-vision actresses.

Excellent; thank you. I didn’t do a very thorough job, I guess.

The novel was superb. Absolutely loved it. I don’t know how well it does its justice, given that the novel takes places from the “view” of a blind person, but the trailer looks great.
