I’m not saying the story is wrong, but if Luckhirst told me the sky was blue, I’d be going outside to check first, and still be very sceptical if he was right.

It’s an easy story to write by a journalist who is nowhere near credible nowadays….

Not to mention, the club powerbroker mentioned in this title is likely out of a job by the end of the year.

I mean by the sounds of it Arnold’s out the door himself, so I’m not sure what difference this makes.

this is actually a variation wherein the person offering the vote of confidence is doing so in part to deflect attention from his own failures. not backing ten hag would look like admitting a mistake, which is something arnold can’t afford to do if he wants any chance of retaining the job once ratcliffe comes in (he’s likely to lose it anyway, though).

Not really sure his position with anyone currently in situ matters…

It’s Ratcliff who will make the call when the deal is ratified, and Ten Hag has shown absolutely nothing to get himself kept on.

This club’s management gave Ole a new deal in late July 2021, gave this quote:

“The results of that have become increasingly visible over the past two seasons and we are all looking forward to seeing this exciting team develop further in the years ahead."

And then (deservedly) sacked him 4 months later. What they say mean fuck all. Not that I think Ten Hag should be sacked.

I know it’s all just nothing PR statement but how can anyone at Utd say in public, with a straight face, that any part of the club is making “Good progress?”

Oh I guess actually they reported record Revenue so GGMU all is well

My heart sank when I saw Sam Luckhurst. I was expecting an exposé about how the lads call him baldy and make him eat lunch alone in the corner 😂

This is their run of games from December to mid-January. I don’t see him surviving.

    Everton (a)

Galatasaray (a) — lose this and they’re pretty much out of CL.

    Newcastle (a)

    Chelsea

    Bournemouth

    Bayern

    Liverpool (a)

    West Ham (a)

    Villa

    Forest

    Spurs (a)

This is why the people in higher positions need replacing and should’ve never been given the roles though hold. “Good progress” the guy is taking the p*ss.

Finishing top 4 last season despite always looking like a bang average team probably hasn’t helped them.

The executives are fucking clueless about football and obviously didn’t see they were nowhere near competitive last season and this season is just reverting to the mean after over performing last season. But they just see numbers on the page and think “well done boys, good process”.

Getting lucky with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham having rank seasons shouldn’t have convinced them that Man United were suddenly an okay football team.
