    makes sense in a certain way - china is cresting the peak now and is beginning to downturn. their population is aging and their birthrate is declining - in a few decades they’ll be where Japan is now but with vast rust belts. only through massive adoption of automation will a part of their industrial and manufacturing base survive, which will further exacerbate the systemic population drain - after all, if people cant work, why live in China? why pay ridiculously high taxes to support an aging population?

    no, inept CCP policy poor governance, or just willful neglect led to this. emigrating to the USA is a very good option.
