Thousands of DWP benefit claimants could be owed as much as £5k thanks to a ruling. A number of people were wrongly assessed while claiming benefits, meaning they could be due a payout.

BirminghamLive reports that the DWP will pay backpayments over Personal Independence Payment (PIP) following a Supreme Court judgement which changed the way some on the benefit are classed and assessed. The DWP last week announced it has already reviewed 79,000 cases and 14,000 have been paid out an eye-watering total of a whopping £74 million.
