I tried unlined journals for a while. But I found that I was writing at a pretty steep angle towards the end of the page. I found grid paper “lines” were too narrow. So I had to go the traditional way and settle on lined paper.

I like lined with margins that are unlined. I always end up trying to squeeze too much in if I don’t have a good stopping point. I have a dotted one that I’ve been using right now with a satisfying cover texture, but the dots don’t give me enough stability. I start to drift off into the next line without noticing too often. Maybe the dots are too subtle, but I think I would hate it more if they weren’t. Overall they’re not bad though. I’m just a bit sloppy and inattentive. 😅
