Hey yall, just for fun I had the idea of making our own community tier list for trackers. Lumping them all together regardless of category, just rating them on how well they do what they do.

Commit if you have any changes or additions and I will update!

Orpheus is probably A-tier if it’s being compared to S-tier Redacted, but both are quite good now.

Also, GGn has never changed its mission statement or quality but I feel like the rise of Fitgirl/DODI/KaOs, cs.rin, and Clean Steam File (CSF) ripping has really left them in the dust and failing to adapt. I wish GGn would start tracking sha256-matched clean source files and AIO delta updates so I can apply my own cracks to up-to-date versions of games. As is I barely ever use GGn anymore because the games they track are always out of date by nature of infrequent scene/P2P releases.

Sounds like I’m also behind, as someone who only plays older games and they are always on there when I search haha. So you think it should be moved down?

I’ll go ahead and place orpheus, thanks for contributing!

I don’t think GGn should be moved down per se because they’ve done nothing wrong and they are high quality for what they aim to do, but I do wish they kept on the pulse of gaming piracy a bit more. I would also say compared to titans like BTN/PTP/RED, GGn’s catalog isn’t as meticulously filled out, so I would maybe vote for A-tier instead of S-tier. I would understand if others think S-tier though.

FileList seems to be recommended as an easily-accessible private torrent tracker in the same way that TorrentLeech is. In my experience FileList isn’t nearly as likely to have a release in contrast to TorrentLeech, but for what it does have many releases seem to be well-seeded. I’d suggest putting it in the B-Tier.

Additional trackers and my ratings. Curious to see anyone’s take on them.

I highly appreciate a well organized tracker that also accommodates the *arr suite. Also if it’s the best in its category, even if it doesn’t hit the mark on other factors.

If drama doesn’t affect normal use of the website, then it’s not a big factor for me. I only seriously got into the private tracker scene 2 years ago.

    Should we include public trackers?

    S tier

    A tier

    • RUtracker - General

Oh wow, this is a big list lol. Haven’t heard of someone of these so will take a bit to work through it, but thanks for contributing!

Oh and I wasn’t planning on including public trackers, I just made an exception for Nyaa since it’s so well regarded in it’s category.

Also wasn’t planning on including too many hyper niche trackers as I was planning to make another post about those later.

I’ve heard a bit about Anthelion and Nebulance, is the retention there good?

Yes, retention is very good on ANT and NBL. If it wasn’t of the past drama of the site owner, they would be A tier trackers on everyone’s lists IMHO.

It’s a fun compilation, happy to contribute something to it. Happy to give more info if need be.

There’s a 5 year old Reddit thread where the creator shut down NBL and called out some Redditors and trackers he had beef with, but some didn’t even know why. Seems like he would go on tantrums and easily ban people too.

Just poor ways to manage whatever issues he had. Don’t know much more.

Maybe the releases I was looking for aren’t widely available, but neither Oxtorrent, Torrent911, nor YGGTorrent seemed to be better for finding French releases than a tracker like 1337x is for finding English ones. On another note, while I’m still on the lookout for an AlphaRatio invite, research seems to indicate that it’s at least better than TorrentLeech. Conversely, unless PrivateHD is not as good as other trackers on the Avistaz network, it didn’t seem to have anything TorrentLeech didn’t last time I checked.

You know, I think I was too generous for YGGtorrent. Lately it has been hard to connect it to autobrr and Prowlarr. More of a B tier tracker. I heard good things about HD-Only but it’s been difficult to register. Qctorrent and t411 were the good days.

On the other hand, TL has been a pleasant surprise. I had an account with them for 5 years but forgot and never bothered until recently. It constantly has choice, retention, and decent monitoring. Many TV shows I have also release fast. What stands out is that it’s been very easy to build up my ratio. AR has been similar to TL but it’s taking me three times as long to build up ratio.

Avistaz is specifically for Asian content. Very good for hard to find stuff and their request community is excellent.

I have no idea where in the list it would rank but I’ve been a longtime user of pornolab.net. I don’t know how it compares with other porn trackers because I don’t have access to them. I’d love to get access to empornium but I don’t know anyone with an invite.

Iptorrents has some porn but I mostly use it for movies and TV shows. Curious why it’s considered b-tier because I’ve had a very good experience there.

Redacted is awesome though, I agree with its s-tier rating. I didn’t know anyone with an invite but I was able to get through their interview/application process.

Again I said it’s subjective, if people want something changed I’ll change it! There’s been lots of complaints about IPT over the years of shady stuff going down, people losing their accounts of no reason, them wanting bribes to get back on the site, etc. I’ll agree the content is good, but the site itself and staff are not. I could see it being maybe an A tier imo, certainly not S.

Maybe someone else can chime in with what they think of pornolab compared to emp.

MyAnonaMouse is D-tier. Has very little content, and community-wise, they go for “family friendly” which is weird and uncomfy for what’s literally a piracy community?

What’s the trick to getting into the higher tier trackers? I’m on some that are obviously C-tier, invited by ppl I know, but no idea how to upgrade. I keep a good ratio on them, too!

Route most people take is they get in their first private tracker x, then on that tracker get an invite to tracker y, then on tracker y someone invites them to tracker z. Eventually you start to rack them up. I started at Demonoid in like 2005, now I have every tracker I could want lol.

Well, i’m on tracker(s) x but they don’t have much in the way of active forums. it looks like trolling for invites is non-existent and i’d guess bannable on them, so no idea how to make the leap from x to y!

Well if the tracker you are on doesn’t have active forums, and active irc or forbids invites, then I’d find a different tracker to get on via either open registration or interview that does.

That’s kind of a chicken-and-egg problem there, although I didn’t know there were open registration for any of them. Is there a place to know when they are open? Or interview, I’m going to have to look that up.

              For a website there is:

              https://opentrackers.org/

but I feel like it’s been lacking lately. For both more and faster updates I’d suggestion joining the telegram group, it does pretty well:

              https://t.me/opensignup

And it’s not even a compromise to use open trackers nowadays, several in the A-tier list have been open just this past couple months.

A more informative chart would certainly be helpful, given that while IPTorrents is harder to join than TorrentLeech, it’s also not as good in terms of content. At the same time, while I don’t think TorrentLeech belongs in the B-Tier, it’s certainly among the easiest to join of the trackers in the A-Tier while not be the most useful as a launchpad for joining better trackers in the A and S tiers. Of the trackers that have open signups, AlphaRatio seems to be a better starting point, but I’ve unfortunately yet to get an invite to it.

Tier list separated from content type is too abstract thing. If you’re metalhead then metal-tracker would be S-tier for you and redacted would be nowhere above B. If you’re jazz fan, then tiers would be totally oposite (you won’t need metal-tracker at all).

Yea I’m referring less to personal rankings and more of a generalization. Aka how well does the tracker do what it set out to do. If it’s a movie tracker, has a huge library of everything you could want, old torrents are still well seeded, the site is well designed, etc, then it’s high tier.

For me, red has everything I could want, but it seems in your opinion they are missing stuff. Which could mean in a generalizing sense it could be lower than I rated it which is why I wanted to get other peoples opinion.

Also I’m trying to keep extremely niche trackers off the list as I planned to make another post about them later to add to the megathread like I will this one.

Might be better for the niche tracker list, but I’d put MVGroup as a B-tier documentary tracker. While its releases often seem to be a downgrade in quality from what they should be (720p releases for 1080p documentaries and 1080p releases for 2160p documentaries), what they do have is usually well-seeded and is sometimes the only easily-accessible source for niche documentaries.
