Hello everybody

Here’s hoping I can find an answer on the Fediverse, since I refuse to provide content to Reddit.

I have this issue on my Fedora install, that the boot screen where I enter my disk encryption password doesn’t show up. It’s not a big deal, because if I press Esc I can still see the text mode to enter my password, but it’s still odd since it has been like that for a few months, where I had the same issue with an old fresh install and another fresh installation after switching drives. I couldn’t find anything on the internet except that one forum entry from a few years back, but apparently an update fixed that issue.

Any ideas what could be at fault here?

I do have all updates installed and I am on Fedora 38. When I installed Fedora 38 newly without any prior config it worked sporadically like every 4-6 boots but after the second reinstall trying to fix it, it doesn’t work at all anymore.

I am not familiar with this particular sort of situation, but it may simply be a bug. I would search the Bugzilla and related upstream projects repos for issues possibly related. If you don’t find anything, you may even be useful by submitting a bug report, and see how that goes.
