The coin pictures in the article from Canada puports to be of a £2 coin. I could be mistaken but I’m guessing they’re not referring to Canadian pounds.
The article also doesn’t show what the Canadian coins will look like. As far as I can tell the coin featured in the article is a commemerative coin from the Royal Mint for his coranation and not the actual coin for circulation.
Well, considering that’s a british coin and they are talking about the Canadian mint there was bound to be differences.
