These revelations — uncovered through a POLITICO review of thousands of pages of public schedules from his time as borough president and reams of social media posts — shed light on Adams’ unusually strong relationship with Turkey, which has drawn scrutiny from federal investigators. The FBI is looking for evidence the mayor’s 2021 campaign colluded with the Turkish government and accepted illegal campaign contributions.

The investigation, which touches people in Adams’ inner circle, threatens to undermine his ability to run the city during a time of crisis and makes him more vulnerable to challengers as he gears up for reelection in 2025.

The sprawling case has gripped New York politics as the mayor scrambles to fend off a cascade of negative headlines. Federal agents recently raided or conducted interviews at a dozen locations as part of the probe, CNN reported — including the home of Adams’ political fundraiser.

Eric Adams, the fundigelical Christian who grew up in Church of Christ (a high-control Christian cult), attended 80 events celebrating Turkey, a 94% Islamic nation.

Not that they can’t coexist, but given Eric Adams’s particular brand of religion, seems a bit suspicious…

It’s actually kind of common among right wing religious and white supremacist types. They view countries like turkey and Russia and Israel as models. They like the idea of a religious or ethnic group having authoritarian control of a country and imposing homogeny on the population. I’ve heard white supremacist use Isreal in particular as a model for what they want the world to look like due to it’s explicit religious and ethnic political homogeny. In their view Israel is the country all the Jewish people should live in, various African nations should be where all black people live, America should be reserved for white christians, and so on. Edorgan in particular has been praised for turning religious morality into government policy, and was even the keynote speaker at CPAC because of it. Anyway, the point is they don’t agree with the underlying views, they agree with the model of authoritarianism.
