You should not be preparing for Cisco certifications with outdated and old published books as testing has changed a lot. Get on Cisco’s website and see the recommended study material. You also need hands on command line knowledge. There should be online simulators look for them to get hands on. Cisco certifications are worth their weight in gold. If you can get to CCNP level you will definitely be on the road to some good paying jobs if your work skills are good. You will also need firewall skills and certs as well. Good Luck.

Yes, but it has errors in it. All of the study guides do, but you can go to the author’s website and get the published errata.

I used this book in class at that time. I felt (memory wise) that it was an OK read and I managed to pass the class with As. Of course the test that the book prepared you for no longer exists, or has been updated so much as to be a different test now.

It is useful for a read but it is outdated for trying to use as a test prep. You would definitely want the newest updated book to match the latest test.

tad old, but the concepts would be the same, as long as you know the foundations to then build upon. but you wouldn’t use that if you want to pass the current ccna curriculum
