This is doomer as fuck, but I predict an American Belisarius.
There is going to be a final gasp of warmongering conquest upon the continent. My least optimistic prediction is that America is going to turn Mexico into a sacrifice zone to prevent northern migration as the climate crisis peaks. A military background having comprador could easily become the “American Belisarius” and conquer southwards to create a borderlands. Similar to what NATO is trying to turn the western ukraine into.
