Looking at possibly going to Accra and Nairobi for a month each just to see what it’s like. Anyone been? Any thoughts?
Nightlife is great in Nairobi, and the weather is a little chillier in the winter (good for someone not used to living all year round in 29 degrees Celsius).
Uber gets you anywhere for $2-4 and in all of Africa, the drivers were less likely in Nairobi to ask to cancel and get cash for the ride.
If you like animals, I highly suggest a safari in Nairobi National Park. You can hire a driver for about $100 for 4 hours, and this is suuuper affordable compared to other safaris.
The SGR railway gets you to Mombasa in about 6-7 hours for around $25 in first class if you need some beach time.

I’ve been Ubering in South Africa for 9 years (wtf) and that’s never once happened to me. I’d probably go for it just to get more hard cash to the driver.
Any one have thoughts on Lagos?
Was just there for a week (to travel, not to DN). Might not be too useful but lmk in case you have any questions
A lot of DNs in Cape Town
Shhhhh don’t tell the others
Yes. I do Nairobi quite a number of times; well at least twice a year for over a month each time. I highly recommend it. Internet is amazing, food is great, nightlife is A+ but the traffic is just ………. Smh!!!
Done both. Highly recommend Nairobi. Ghana gets a bit boring, but the food is great.
Nairobi is my favorite DN city. Lmk if you need tips for your stay, including accommodations
For Cape Town when I was looking at airbnbs, loads of the nicer ones say they have a generator and there is no issues with load shedding. I am in Ecuador right now and had to find a place with a generator because we are having 3-hour daily power cuts.
In Cape Town right now - my Airbnb has a generator so no loadshedding
I live in Nairobi. What are you looking for?
Very curious if it’s as safe for women as men
