Bought these roller blinds from Costco and they worked wonders with HomeAssistant – until I accidentally reseted them and now they have lost memory for their upper and lower limits. They would close and open halfway.

HomeAssistant can open, close, and stop the blinds but that’s all. There doesn’t seems to be an option to set the upper and lower limits. I know like Zwave locks, you can set the user code directly – is it possible for Blinds with Home Assistant?

If I were to use the Zwave Hub from Bali, it looks like it’s possible, so there must be some sort of command or parameter that HomeAssistant isn’t picking up. I looked through the Zwave alliance page, but lucked out.

Usually, the upper and lower limits can be adjusted via their Zwave app, or using a physical Bali Zwave remote. I have a 3rd party Zwave remote unrelated to Bali, but I have no idea if it works the same way.

Is there a hidden parameter somewhere or a way to clone it from the Zwave page?

tldr: Bali Blinds upper and lower limits can be adjusted via their official Zwave hub or physical remote – anyway to do this from HomeAssistant or a 3rd party Zwave remote?

If you can figure out which zwave parameter controls the limits (which you can often find by reading the manual or tech spec of the device, or by checking your zwave logs after refreshing the device’s values or reinterviewing it), it should be possible to set that parameter directly, depending on your setup. I use zwave2mqtt via zwaveJS UI, so I would either use the MQTT Publish service in HA to send the command to update the parameter, or use MQTTBox (or whatever has replaced it now it’s no longer supported); but I’m not sure how you’d do it with a different zwave setup.

Yes it’s possible to set these with the configuration parameters. We need to know which z-wave integration you’re using to know how to find those.
