Lemmy and Kbin weren’t ready for the big time at the last Reddit exodus. Next time we’ll be prepared. It was pretty bustling for a month or two, despite all the problems. It felt like a good size.
How are daily active users consistently decreasing while daily posts and comments are consistently increasing? Are fewer people participating more and more?
AFAIK Lemmy counts active users as users who “engage”, meaning they post, comment or vote. Falling DAU/MAUs could be due to users not feeling obligated to engage, and instead engaging when they feel like it.
I think the daily posts and comments are misleading. They actually show all the posts and comments that are avalaible.
Source: I made it up, but around the Reddit exodus we consistently had over 1k posts or even 2k ones daily. Now it’s noticeably more rare to see those.
