Its been April since I came back.
I always had a good time there, culture, people, food, nature, short term friends and some dating
Here I have high rent, no long term friends, non existant dating, it makes me always think about booking a ticket back, including all my friends saying they will go
Anyone have a similiar feeling?
lol glad it’s just not me who feels the same way I spent New Year there still thinking about it
I’ve been 4 times and think about it literally every day. I feel you.
Yeah, I feel that way too sometimes. There’s always future return trips. For now, try to find what you appreciate about where you are. Be grateful for the time you had there and the time you get to have here. And hey, if it really sucks, just head back to where you were last happy.
Exactly, I can always book a trip otherwise isues will follow. Im also getting therapy to be more satisfied
can you confirm there is no corn in thighland
Whats corn
it’s time to spin that wheel of mythicality
I spend a good portion of every year in Thailand. It’s where I feel most relaxed.
Sagittarius!!! Happy birthday!
Me too. Thailand and Bali, at least a month or two in each annually. Often I ended up in Bali more though.
What do you do can I ask
Code monkey
Where in Thailand/Bali do you stay if I may ask?
Outskirts of Ubud or further north, when I want to wind down. Sometimes further south in Uluwatu for the beaches.
Bangkok when I miss bustling city life. Or Songkhla, KK, CM when I want a little adventure.
Happy Cake Day!
And yes, Thailand does make me feel the same.
It does relax me as well. When I go back something irks me about hearing everyone’s conversations and Americans are so loud and inconsiderate it’s almost like a constant low-grade torture.
I started back to my ‘real’ life in September.
Heading back to Thailand in January.
Yes
Same, I go back almost every year.
Damn well you only live once… how you want to spend your time?
It’s been years and I still feel the same way.
Yes, about my 3 months in Mexico. It changed my life. I would live there if they had reliable Amazon prime 🤣
You can get a US forwarding address from mailboxes etc. You order to that address and mailboxes etc forward your packages to your local store. It takes an extra 4 days or so and the costs depend on weight.
I live in the Playa Del Carmen and our Amazon Prime is great!
i mean i would just settle for real addresses for delivery, I think i still have a package at a DHL pickup in Oaxaca from last spring
They do have reliable amazon prime lol
I live on a sailboat and just spent 6 months in Cartagena, Colombia. It’s crazy, if you keep your Amazon order under $200 there is no tax/duty, and anything over $35 is shipping.
The problem is that you are not the only one that feels the same about Thailand, so they’ve become rather strict with immigration rules. It’s hard, to impossible to just roll up and live here anymore. You need to get a proper, long term visa.
Lived in Thailand since 2015 and love it.
Exactly. Did you buy elite visa?
Thats where most people struggle
No, we went nightmare difficulty mode. Opened a BOI company.
That sounds exhausting, all regulation, fees etc I heard a lot of people staying on fake visa here got blacklisted
Where specific in Thailand did you stay and for how long were you there?
Bangkok 70 days I want to try Chiang Mai I have been a few times with family
You can always stay unlimited time in the Philippines. No visa runs, no hassle, no need to pay income tax.
Thailand is much better though.
Issue is crime, infrastructure etc… same cost too lol Theres a reason why its unlimited visa
i traveled for years. now i have a family, kids. it’s a small window of time that you have this freedom. don’t waste it
The best option is avoiding the family / kids and just plowing (dating) for decades.
Or just meet a fellow nomad and don’t have kids ever 🙂
DINK. And maybe get a puppy and be Dual Income Loving Dog Owners.
I see what you did there.
That’s what my wife and I do. Only problem is that traveling with a dog really restricts where we can go. I’d love to go to Iceland or Australia but I’m not dealing with the quarantine process!
Everything else is pretty great though. We’re on a one-year visa in France now. A good travel partner makes things better IMO.
Well, the DILDO life isn’t for everyone, you know?
The dream
that sounds pretty lonely.
not to mention all the awkward meetup with cousins and friends who all have kids and you’re alone.
So your saying to have kids because ‘everyone else is’ and your not comfortable being alone with yourself and/or a partner?
Don’t give into the pressures of society.
“Omg totally awks… better devote my life to raising a child for multiple decades to avoid the cringe.”
