I am playing Horizon Zero Dawn and haven’t gotten to the first main event, but it gives me this feeling like if I upgrade all my equipment now it might be for nothing. I know that is not the case, I looked it up, but what are some games that are the worst offenders? One I can think of is Aerith in the original FF7.
RDR2
I was pretty pissed on my first palythrough when all of my donations just disappeared.
Fuck you, Dutch!
I just need faith!
Wait, people actually did the donation thing? Fucking why lmao
Because I had faith!
I did for the fast travel on my second playthrough.
Perks such as fast travel etc are unlocked, honour increase and a sense of comradery with the gang
That emotion is part of the story. Well done Rockstar
My camp was starving while I would occasionally grace them with my presence, on a new horse and wearing an expensive new three piece suit
This guy outlaws
Took some time to go get the white horse that is extremly beautiful. And then it dies. Already really painful having your horse die, but having one that took me efforts to get hit even worse.
I had my main horse, my prized horse, my most beloved horse, the first horse I bought with actual money, not stolen, throughout the entire game… I should have fucking known I shouldn’t have named him Artax.
You think that’s bad?
I named the only horse I used the entire game after my (at the time) unborn daughter.
That was a bad move emotionally.
In a similar way I named my horse after my dog. Wasn’t a pleasant scene to watch play out
I had recently acquired Buell. I was doubly gutted to lose that horse considering the missions prior to him being bestowed to you.
What do you mean your donations just disappeared? A fully upgraded tent can save you a ton of money restocking ammo and supplies, plus unlocking the fast travel map.
I loved RDR2 but money and supplies are pretty meaningless in that game
I tried to go find it as John. Abigale was the one who hid it and had the key right?
That was the one thing that really took me out of the story for red dead 2. I was doing 100% run and Dutch keeps talking about one more big score while my character has completely maxed out the camp and has over 10 grand in his pocket
So true. I remember doing one ‘big job’ main mission and the reward was could hundred bucks. Which was chump change at that point. I could have chartered a boat to Tahiti if Dutch wasn’t so far up his own ass
Actually this is really on-character for Dutch. No amount of money would have ever been enough for him. At Beaver Hallow they had about 49k in the cave. That’s more than enough to fuck off and hide somewhere. The “one more big score” is just another line to keep everyone on the hook working for Dutch. He thrived in the chaos and power.
Watching people grumble that I’m not donating enough because 200$ is too little but Bill Williamson gets off with donating a singular bat wing?
I like to imagune them forming a guard of honour and applauding him as he walks towards the donation box, proudly holding a single bat wing aloft in his hands, and them all going wild with celebration after he gently places it inside.
And then Arthur walks up and everyone just tuts in dismay as he deposits a lowly $1000 in the box
Also don’t your stats lower in chapter 6?
You knew well… he always had a plan
