I always somehow find my way back to playing No Man’s Sky. No matter what I do, game I play, activity inside or outside of gaming, NMS is always there to play and chill. Sometimes I go on creative and spend a week amassing the perfect color coordinated team of ships, crew, frigates, and freighter.
That and every content update we get for free!
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas
Have you tried tales of two wasteland?
Never played either. Which one would you recommend, to play for the first time?
If you’re on PC, get the Tale of Two Wastelands mod. It allows you to play Fallout 3 with NV’s fixes. You can also start NV with your Fallout 3 character.
If you don’t want to be OP in NV, get the Benny Humbles You mod as well. You lose all your gear and stats at the start of NV, but you can optionally get them back after a certain point.
Probably the first time I just got completely engrossed in a game.
I remember spending crazy amounts of time in Tenpenny Tower at first because I got so engrossed in the apocalyptic environment and freaked out by the ghouls that I didn’t want to leave.
Also got me interested in music from the crooners, big bands, etc, and that led me to getting super close with my grandparents. That led to some of the happiest years of my life before they passed.
Same! Fallout 3 was the first game I was completely absorbed into. The world is so vast and rich, even the empty parts. Absolutely incredible.
Can you convince me? I just got to Vegas after 25 ish hours. I think I’m going to quit, I’m bored beyond belief. And it’s not a “you don’t like RPGs” thing, Disco Elysium might be my favorite game.
A lot of the game is talking to people, exploring dialogue options, and finding creative ways to complete quests.
If the dialogue and characters don’t interest you then there’s not a lot of reason to keep playing. Not every game is for everyone after all.
Since you’re just hitting Vegas, I recommend going to the Lucky 38 and meeting Mr House. That really kicks off the “main” plot and might get you more invested.
Disco Elysium has as much in common with point-and-click adventures as it does with cRPGs. It has as much in common with Secret of Monkey Island as it does with FO:New Vegas.
Time to replay 3 I guess. It’s been a while. Bored with Starfield after ‘bout 2 playthroughs and a fuckton of hours.
I wonder if 10 - 15 years from now will I be enjoying the next elder scrolls and fallout 5, or replaying skyrim and fallout 3/NV
Fun fact there’s a mod that combines F3 and new Vegas lol
Love that you mentioned both. So many friends love on but shit on the other, I logged over 1000 hours in both and if I had to pick only one it would be NV, but they are both masterpieces.
Just started a new run of Fallout 3.
