The Oil Classico was underwhelming yesterday. PSG easily could have scored 3-5 goals but the finishing was woeful. Really wanted to see Al-Nakhasil United getting pumped.
I fucking hate that some teams take Arabian oil money, luckily at the Emirates we don’t stoop so low.
Do you understand the difference between sponsorship and ownership?
That puts everything into perspective, it doesn’t seem so silly now Arsenal fans whining about foreign oil money whilst being owned by a foreign billionaire and having the stadium and the shirts emblazoned with the name of an Airline owned by a government who’s wealth is derived from oil… this where you try to explain why that’s not hypercritical and delusional.
It’s not as bad as ownership, but our hands are definitely a bit dirty with the Emirates sponsorship and it would be the right move to leave it behind.
Not to mention nobody likes the corporate naming anyway, stadium names like Highbury, Anfield & Old Trafford will always be astronomically clear of the likes of Emirates & Etihad.
