No way - you can tell he’s special. I hate Yanited and agree 100% they tend to overhype all their players.
But playing the 6 that well on a debut - universally accepted as the hardest position to play in football these days - at that age is incredible.
Let’s be honest - if that was MLS or Patino playing that position for us that well at Goodison - this entire sub will do the same.
They were doing the same for Dan James, Elanga, Garnacho. Basically every time one of their players has a good game. They are hanging on straws.
He’s different IMO. The others in that list have/had major flaws, but Mainoo appears to have the full package for his position (to my uneducated eyes) and justifies the praise…for now. It’s all just potential of course, but I don’t see it in Garnacho for instance.
Nah none of them were universally rated like this. James and Elanga were obviously flawed.
