How many in the arsenal squad are world class? Define WC and list:

For me world class means the player would not look out of place starting for Citeh, Barca, RM or Bayern.

Saliba , Saka, Odegaard and Rice.

Having Word class talent and being a world class player are different things for me. Saka, ode, saliba, etc have WC talent but i wouldn’t consider them WC players. WC players produce week in week out and impact almost every single match. Rarely disappear. And if you’re doing that at a big club, you will then see the individual plaudits but more importantly the big trophies. That’s really what it’s all about. So in my humble opinion, I don’t think anyone on arsenal is truly a world class player YET. They are certainly on their way.

So they’ve got 4 world class players that haven’t won a domestic league Title or European Cup, weird that.

Depends heavily on how you define it.

Saliba, Rice, Saka and Odegaard are the best 4 players at Arsenal.

For me world class means the player would not look out of place starting for Citeh, Barca, RM or Bayern.

If that’s world class, then every single player who starts for Arsenal would be world class. Arsenal have arguably the 4th strongest squad in Europe after City / Bayern / Real. So, the entire starting XI wouldn’t look out of place there.

There’s certainly better players in some of the squads, and worse ones.

You think Ramsdale/Raya/White/Zinchenko/Jesus/Martinelli etc get in to the starting eleven of those teams? No chance, they wouldn’t get in to our team (Liverpool)

Saka, Saliba, Odegaard and Rice are not far off but not convinced any of them are in the top 5 of each position.

I don’t think any of them look out of place in those teams.

Raya and Ramsdale both play very similarly to Ederson, Zinchenko and Jesus literally did play for city, Martinelli is just as good as Gnabry for example.

I’m not saying that they’re all world class, I was more talking about the way he defined world class.

Raya and Ramsdale, particularly Ramsdale are miles below Ederson/Alisson. City got rid of both cheap because they weren’t good enough for them. Martinelli is a bit hit and miss but he’s got huge potential, just like Saka.

World class should really be players who would get in to the best teams but I don’t think any of them would. It’s a huge compliment to Arsenal and Arteta that it’s the team that is performing so well rather than individuals.

Liverpool weren’t part of the question but I definitely don’t think they’re that far below Ederson in the slightest.

Understand that but Alisson is the benchmark now for world class keepers, just like Salah is for RW.

Watching Ramsdale in particular he just doesn’t have that quality on the ball needed to be the best now.

My definition: world-class is a player that’s either the best in his position in the world or very close to the best player in this position.
For example, you could argue that Harry Kane is the best striker in the world right now (and that’s coming from an Arsenal fan!), but Haaland obviously deserves the same label.
With that in mind, I would say Saka, Rice, and Saliba are there. Odegaard and Martinelli are very close, I think Ben White was in that second group last season too.

I dont think any of them are WC yet, but to me thats an issue of their age and experience. Saka is probably the closest to WC than all of them, then i would put Rice and Saliba after him. Odegaard needs to find consistency in his form. Martinelli needs to improve in more than a few areas, but he’s not far away from the conversation.

We don’t have any world class players, but we’ve got players that in a couple of years could well go on to become world class

No one on Arsenal is world class. World Class is like Harry Kane, Rodri, KDB, Salah, not a signle player on Arsenal is even close to that level. They can get there, but they are not there now.

The way I look at it, all of the starting XI on any big club is world class. Ignoring salary and transfer fees, any club would be happy to have them. A mediocre player on any of the big clubs would be the best player on a small club in a lesser league.

That’s different from asking if they’re the best 2 or 3 in the world at their position.

World Class: the peak, the pinnacle, the best of the best right now in their position.

    The list:
