The OP is boring noting the similarity in how former allies are whitewashed from history.
Specifically, the pic at the top had Nikolai Yezhov removed after.
In the bottom picture, I this think that’s Prigorin in the middle between Kadyrov and Putin, erased after his coup attempt. I’m not so good at identifying faces, so I could certainly be wrong.
You got it spot on. Similarities however run deeper: Yezhov was Stalin’s man during the great purge and did the actual dirty work, just like pringles did before 2022

I thought that was Mussolini.
It does look a bit like him, but remember that Mussolini should always be upside down.
Political allies suddenly ending up disappearing, both then and now, I think is the idea.
