For me it’s Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I played the original when it was new but barely remember it and I owned shadow war and never got into it.

However Human revolution blew me away. I loved that game so much. I still think about it and actually am making this post because I finally started cyberpunk last night and got human revolution vibes like crazy.

However I bought mankind divided on my birthday when it released. Happened to be right around the same day. I turned it on, walked a few steps and turned it off. For whatever reason I’ve never turned it on again.

Mass Effect Trilogy. I had the 360 games for a while, and now I even bought the legendary edition (digitally). I loved Kotor and I know that I’d love ME, but I just don’t have the time.

starfield. I sweared im gonna play it but after I realized there are no “aliens” in starfield which is literally space opera like I got demotivated as hell. when I found out how shallow and boring this game is, I don’t regret my decision even more

I’m honestly gonna tell you to try it. I played for 50 hours and I was done, but it’s not bad.

Only reason I say to try it (on gamepass) is to at least say you’ve tried it so if you want to hate on it you have the right. It’s a good game made wrong.

With that said, yes there are aliens

Also the entire story is literally just a long-winded way to use lore to say why new game plus is a thing. You heard that right the story is literally just a preamble to new game plus every single time

It’s a bit ironic that there are more aliens in fallout than there are in Starfield. They could at least have added an alien Easter egg or something.

My witcher 3 experiance is this: i Get past the 1st area and into the 2nd, then never play it again, rinse, repeat.

      Like 5 times now

I totally know what you mean. The beginnings of both games are really tough to get used to, especially if you’re coming off W3.

After trying many times over the years, I eventually found easier W1 to get into, once I got used to the fact the combat is essentially a rhythm-clicking game.

Also the beginning area isn’t very compelling but once you start helping people on quests the story really opens up and pulls you in, especially after you beat the first big boss – which unfortunately is one of the tougher boss fights you’ll encounter because you’re so weak in terms of weapons and skills. Once I managed to kill it, I felt a real high, and I started to really enjoy the game.

Like you, I also read the books, so that also helped to keep my attention in the game.

I don’t know why, but while W2 is a way less janky game than W1, I just found the interface and combat really awkward on the PC, even if using a controller. You can tell it was really designed for consoles. You can’t remap some of the commands (maybe with the mod you can), and it took a long time for me to get comfortable with how the game works. I actually started to miss the rhythm combat of W1.

Both games are definitely worth playing if you big Witcher fan, but for some reason I think I may slightly prefer W1 over W2. It has a certain charm that I liked and I liked the more compact size of the game.

Its good except for the main story.

A bit batman-y in its quest design owed to the gaming trends at the time.

Don’t listen to that guy, the main story and ESPECIALLY the dlcs have strong and good writing

The story is very strong in Witcher 3. One of the reasons I played was because I was excited about Open World in the Witcher Universe, and ended up loving it because of the heart-touching story.

Just a thing, if you get it, get the edition with all dlcs, goes usually for way too cheap during sales, and the dlcs are even better than the main story.

      Same for me.

I have been meaning to play Disco Elysium but I always get overwhelmed by the choices and the character creation. I don’t replay games so I keep thinking I will do a perfect run one day.

Doesn’t require a big time investment. The mechanics are easy to get the hang of and the story is pretty short.

Lots of replay value if you’re into speed runs like I was back in the day but the main story is like 2-4 hours.

It’s relatively short, but visually stunning and the gameplay is fluid. Mirror’s Edge (the first one) has a spot in my heart.

    “Souls” games

    Metal Gear series

    Resident Evil

    Devil May Cry

    Bayonetta

Ive never played a single one of the above.

Detective Pikachu. I played it for 10 minutes and got bored. I keep telling myself I’m going to come back to it and actually play it, but 🤷
