It's happening! It's really happening! Despite being the first Star Trek: Discovery spin-off to be announced, Star Trek: Section 31 has been in production hell ever since. Pandemics and its star, Michelle Yeoh's insanely in-demand work schedule have stuck it in the production pipeline. But after years of delay and an Academy Award, Section 31 will go ahead as a movie. Hints and rumours had already started to swirl before the official announcement. Of course, fans were sceptical, given the previous delays, but now we have solid evidence it's actually happening!

The Directors’ Guild of Ontario hotlist is a fairly reliable source for production guild news. Star Trek preproduction in the Greater Toronto Area usually shows up there before any official announcements of production dates.

Today’s hotlist update adds a rumour for a CBS Studios television movie to start production in October.

Is ‘Dovercourt’ the working pseudonym for S31 this round? Or is there some other made for streaming movie in the schedule for CBS Stages Mississauga? Only time will tell…

    The latest rumours before the strike characterized the movie as a cross between MI and Guardians of the Galaxy.

    If they broaden out an ensemble to include other legacy characters across the franchise with S31, intelligence and/or temporal shenanigans, it could be a lot of fun.

        It was intended to reach a different slice of the potential audience, to draw new demographics to the franchise.

        Many of us didn’t think that either Lower or Prodigy would be something we’d want to see and they’re favourites.
