So… I really, really, REALLY want to get better at sewing. I can sew some simple things like zipper bags, but it’s like every time I completely forgot the last time and have to start over again.
I am desperate for a step-by-step for complete beginners guide that I can use to retain some knowledge and will allow me to build up confidence and skills. I don’t mind if it’s paid, I just want to truly improve. Any recommendations, friends?
Boosts super appreciated 💗
@elisse
choose things you really like to make and start from there: Patchwork? Clothes? Bags?
And then look for good patterns with well written instructions, always do a muslin or test piece and go for the nice stuff when you do the real thing.And honestly: I have done idk a gazillion fly zippers, invisible zippers and whatnot. And I always have a cheatsheet, sewalong, how-to or whatever next to me.
Because I don’t do them everyday all-day.
That’s just how it works.@Kuchenschwarte Well, I wouldn’t even know what a good pattern looks like. I’ve tried some people say are good, but they all seem to assume some basic knowledge. I ideally need a class that starts from “This is called a needle” and builds from there.
