If only speaking from personal experience, many games nowadays have an almost implicit requirement to search up a “before I play” guide or a “beginner recommendations”. If nothing else, many people want to Google “missables”, to ensure that they can fully experience a game.
What is your recommended game that requires nothing but the player to be in the moment and enjoy the experience?
Outer wilds
Oh man, this by a mile. This game is pure discovery, which means that 1) any spoiler is something you will never experience for yourself the first time, and 2) once completed, it has basically zero replay value. I am still mourning that second point.
The F*** does Cuno care if you Google anything, pig? You should CUNO “Disco Elysium”!
Inside
Witcher 3, Mass Effect trilogy
prey
Red Dead Redemption 2. I had the biggest spoiler just a few days into the game as I was barely into chapter two. I still haven’t made it to that part years later because I know what’s coming.
Detroit: Become Human. I wish I could play it completely blind! I first got it after watching vids of it of YouTube so I never got the opportunity.
Games like phasmaphobia or lethal company. The moment those games stop being chaotic and start becoming methodical they immediately lose all the charm they had for me.
Hollow Knight. At least until after last boss to get all the cool endings.
Superliminal
You sit down for an hour, maybe an hour and a half, maybe two. And you figure shit out on your own. Don’t go “Superliminal level X walkthrough”, go “alright what am I missing here”. The game is so much more fun when you’re the one finding out about stuff.
Just the trailer should be enough information whether or not it’s your kind of game
Elden ring
Subnautica
Stardew Valley!! tempted when I’m trying to find the golden walnuts but we got thisss
Firewatch
This game is terrible.
Lethal Company
