Man I was actually really good at this game as a kid. But it’s one of those games where the moment you even stop to take a temporary break from it you will lose skill instantly. I remember winning so many 1v1 matches though and have great memories of it.

This is the gaming equivalent to the first time your kid whoops your ass in basketball (or insert other sportball game here).

It’s a humbling experience that’s lets you know age has finally caught up with you, but also that your kid is growing and realizing their own talents and abilities.

I spent a full night grinding through the campaign of jumpforce, in one sitting, so I got pretty good at it, I take it over a mates house the next day and she kicks the ever loving shit out of me without even knowing half the mechanics

Sometimes it just do be like that 🤣🤣

To be fair, Quake Champions plays very differently to how Q3 played back in the day.

I had a few rounds when Quake Champions first released. I was a very mediocre Q3 player, but routinely topped leader boards on QC.

QC is a shitty, shitty MTX based hero shooter. It has literally nothing to do with Quake outside of having the IP attached to it. Go play an actual Quake game. I recently had a LAN party with a variety of age groups from Z to boomer and I’m just as good at Q3 as I used to be… 2 or 3 games in and it all came back like riding a bike. The Gen Z kid was talking mad shit about being really good at shooters like the latest COD and Fortnite and I spanked the shit out of him.

Dude, same. I keep telling my kids they should try and compete in e-sports but they tell me they aren’t THAT good.

When I started Q2 and 3 I was around 13 or 14yo and I took a lot of time to go through single player

    Several hours

10years later it took about 45 min for a playthrough and even then I was far away from being pro. Having known people like SK Stelam, i knew my aim is far inferior to these guys who appeared to be real aimbots with shaft and railgun

In 10years ill challenge my son as well. If my wife doesn’t kill me before for letting him play 🤣

I swear every guy in his 30s to early 40s thinks and claims they were “pro” at some sort of FPS game, because they were somewhat decent online and used to beat their 3-4 closest friends regularly.

    It’s epidemic.

Chances are you sucked then too, then got old and slow and out of practice since.

You probably started on Mario, your little savage probably started with Halo or Fortnite. We just can’t hang with that.

Mario is way harder Tf are you talking about? 😂 old school games are some of the most unforgiving games. If you loose at Fortnite it’s because some sweat is playing against you if you loose all your lives in Mario you restart the entire game, no check points. Old games were crazy, especially the platformers
