I got downvoted for a question like this before, but I was wondering if someone could direct me to some cool places to really learn to get the most from my Steam Deck. I know people have installed different programs and stuff to really enhance the experience. I just need a starting point if anyone has some suggestions, please :)

All that I would reccomend is emudeck to emulate retro games. Aside from that I don’t see much reason to mess with the system except the settings that you can change (here).

Look up Decky Loader. It’s probably what you’re seeing with people using plugins on the Deck. I like using CSSLoader on it to change the Steam Deck’s theme and Animation Changer to change the startup animation. ProtonDB Badges is also useful for seeing how well a game will run on the Deck. It’s more comprehensive than the Steam Deck Verified label.
